The students, marching under the "Long March to Jamuna" banner, were demanding solutions to the university's housing crisis and other key issues. The procession faced resistance at Kakrail, where police allegedly used baton charges, sound grenades, tear gas, and water cannons to disperse the crowd, leading to chaos in the area.
